IHE North America Connectathon Registration
IHE USA has opened registration for the IHE North America Connectathon, planned for March 1-5, 2021. For over 20 years, the Connectathon has provided the health IT industry with rigorous, collaborative interoperability testing. This year, for the first time in North America, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, testing will be conducted online and remotely. Learn more and register here.
IHE White Paper on Health Information Exchange
The IHE IT Infrastructure Technical Committee has published a white paper, “Enabling Document Sharing Health Information Exchange Using IHE Profiles” for public comment. The white paper describes how a set of IHE profiles designed to enable document sharing can provide the foundation for secure exchange of health information across a network of healthcare settings. IHE-Europe Achieves First Online Connectathon
In November, IHE-Europe held its first-ever fully online Connectathon. The event, rescheduled from last March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, drew 136 participants from around the world. Innovations in the IHE testing management platform to facilitate remote communication helped make the event a success. Read more at the IHE-E Newspulse website.
In Memoriam: Bill Majurski, NIST
The IHE Community lost a long-time contributor and dear friend with the sudden passing of William (Bill) Majurski on November 14, 2020. Bill was the primary software conformance tool designer at the US National Institute of Standards and Technology responsible for the development of testing tools for IHE’s XDS/XDR/XCA health information exchange profiles.
